Three Afrucan startups have been selected to pitch at the first ever, fully virtual Seedstars International Demo Day 2020. The event is to be held on October 14, 2020.

Pezesha (Kenya), Chaka (Nigeria) and Dryve (Egypt) will join 15 other startups from other parts of the world to pitch their product on October 14th.

Pezesha (Kenya): Digital Infrastructure for financial inclusion of the underserved in Africa, currently reaching 7.23% week-on-week growth in terms of the value of loans disbursed, with rolling 30% monthly growth rate.

Chaka (Nigeria): Chaka enables individuals and companies to invest in Nigerian and US stocks through its digital investment platform.

Dryve (Egypt): Dryve is the first peer-to-peer car sharing platform in the Middle East and North Africa. Through their special relationship with Axa, they have introduced the first of its kind “pay as you drive” insurance policy in the Middle East and the first ever digital claims process in Egypt.

Seedstars CIO, Charlie Graham-Brown, said, “We have two goals with demo day. First, we have asked the founders to put the ‘demo’ back into demo day and I hope that participants will get real insights into how the companies operate and their value propositions.

“Second, we want to share with the world the incredible opportunity and talent we’ve discovered in 2020 and encourage more people to focus their time, money, or know-how on emerging markets.”
