The day has finally come where Kenyan netizens will be able to get their deliveries in Rongai and Ngong towns.
A majority of Kenyan outskirts are often left out when it comes to online deliveries yet a large number of young Kenyans actually live outside Nairobi. This is why it’s a relief that Glovo has partnered with KFC and Carrefour to start delivering food to Ngong and Rongai.
Glovo’s general manager Priscilla Muhiu says that it is their long term plan to create a presence in other towns in Kenya. Their competitors are still within the Nairobi and seem content with not moving beyond the city.
Glovo though not that popular is one of the most affordable online delivery services.
On their app they offer groceries, drinks, food, courier services and a quick and fast delivery. The only challenge with their app is variety, they have a number of affordable restaurants to order from though a number of times you may not be able to get some high-end restaurants there since they haven’t partnered with them. However, their delivery fee is usually KSh 100 and currently reduced by 20% which is quite budget-friendly.
During the pandemic platforms such as Glovo have experienced favourable increase in terms of profit and higher increase in users since people prefer ordering items from the comfort of their home since corona happened.
