2 JKUAT students have been accused of hacking into NCBA bank and stealing KSh 24.4 million.

While other students have been at home sleeping and attending their online classes 2 JKUAT students had other plans. The Information and technology students have been accused of hacking into NCBA’S bank system and stealing KSh 24.4 million and they didn’t stop there, they attempted to steal KSh 190.7 million.

The two students named Antony and Ann Wambui were arraigned before Carolyne Muthoni Njagi over the offences but of course they pleaded not guilty.

Antony Ngige reported the system failure.

The case is not as straightforward as it seems because apparently Antony had reported the system hitch on the NCBA app but there was no response. Antony then sent a message to the company and alerted them about the hitch. Whether this was part of his plan cannot be confirmed because he did alert the bank. NCBA later called the accused to their offices two times before they were arrested. The hearing will take place virtually on November 10th 2020.
