Google will now be blocking heavy ads on chrome to prevent slow browsers.

Ever wondered why your browser might be super slow at times? believe it or not sometimes it has nothing to do with your slow WiFi speed. This is why Google launched Chrome 84 which aims to have better and faster browsers by blocking heavy ads.

Wondering if it works?

A Times reader noted that Google blocked an ad from displaying as it stated that too many resources were being used on his device so Chrome removed it.

Whether or not an ad is too “heavy” is a decision made algorithmically by an individual installation of Chrome. It’s dependent on what’s happening in that browser at that moment, including how much of the device’s CPU it’s using.

Google has a lot of marketing power so we wonder how this will affect them when chrome will be blocking ads. Will this really be a good move when chrome decides the kind of ads you should be getting instead of you blocking for yourself? what do you prefer?
