Startup Guide to release of Startup Guide Nairobi

Startup Guide and SAP are hosting an online event to celebrate the release of Startup Guide Nairobi, one of the most recent editions of the popular entrepreneurial guidebook series.

Key representatives from Nairobi’s startup ecosystem will come together for an online event celebrating the recent release of Startup Guide Nairobi on January 28, 2021.

Based on traditional travel guides, Startup Guide books help entrepreneurs navigate startup hubs across the globe. Known as the Silicon Savannah, Nairobi is globally recognized as a major tech capital and a leader in mobile technology. Over the past decade, a strong ecosystem has developed in this city, with innovation in mobile payments, logistics, ecommerce, health and blockchain leading the way. Startup Guide Nairobi provides practical resources, expert insights and inspiring stories of impact-driven startups using tech for social and environmental good.

Startup Guide founder and CEO Sissel Hansen says, “Nairobi is a major tech hub and many of the startups here are working on solutions to important global problems. I’m excited to share their stories with a global audience through the launch of Startup Guide Nairobi.”

The virtual event will see representatives from the local government and SAP join Sissel Hansen and local key players to discuss how the community can enable and support Nairobi’s startup ecosystem for success. This is a great opportunity to learn about Nairobi’s current startup environment and the city’s potential to attract new entrepreneurs.

Hardeep Sound, head of sales at SAP East Africa, says “At SAP, our vision is to help the world run better and improve people’s lives – this is a vision that local startups and social enterprises live by every day. We are pleased to showcase the incredible talent in the market through Startup Guide Nairobi and hope it will inspire and support even more entrepreneurs to find innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues.”

Startup Guide creates guidebooks and online content to help entrepreneurs navigate and connect with different startup scenes across the globe. Its mission is to guide, empower and inspire people to start their own business anywhere. To date, Startup Guide has created books for more than 50 different cities and regions. In 2019, the company committed to focusing on ventures that create positive economic, environmental and social value.
