Nigerian Fintech startup, Team Apt has started an internship program to support women in Technology.
Team Apt is a financial technology company focused on developing digital banking, business solutions and payment infrastructure. The fintech has announced its first-ever internship program which is targeting female graduates especially in the technology space with an aim to fill the gender disparity gap within The Nigerian Tech ecosystem. And especially Fintech space.
The six months program will provide a platform for young women to grow their skills by getting the exposure necessary to advance their careers.
Managing Director and CEO Tosin Eniolorunda said that many women continue to face challenges in advancing their careers in Tech. That as the tech industry continuously strives to bridge the gender inequality gap, female talent is still underrepresented in most technical roles.
The organization is committed to equality and normalizing the inclusion of women in such roles.
She added that the internship program is one of the ways we are ensuring an increase in the existing quota and provide opportunities for viable careers within the tech industry.
Those who merit for the program will be offered full-time employment in the company.
The company was started in 2015 and since then they have been working in liaison with many African Banks and 100 % of all commercial banks in Nigeria.
Currently the platform major products include monniepoint a mobile money tool that provides banking services to customers. The platform enables users to access services such as cash transfers, cash withdrawal and airtime top up.Another product the company offers is monify,a money gateway for business to accept payment from customers either on recurring or one time basis.
