For instance, if you had planned a special chat session with your friend or have an important work meeting, you can simply schedule the chat so that you and the people involved in it don’t forget about it. Telegram had introduced the voice chat feature with the previous update, but it plans to roll out the scheduled voice chat feature with the next update.

As per the TestingCatalog, with the v7.7.0 Telegram users will get the new voice chat feature. The scheduled voice chat can also be pinned to the channel with a countdown that would be visible to all users.

This can be a very useful feature for people who forget important dates, events.

“After the previous release v7.6.0, where Telegram got a voice chat functionality for channels, Telegram continued enhancing this feature even further. Now you can schedule voice chat for a later time, and it will become pinned to the channel with a countdown visible to all users. This feature comes very handy because otherwise, you will have to remind and schedule this event in a manual way,” the blog said.

So here is how you can schedule voice chats on Telegram

— To get the new voice feature, you will first have to update to the V7.7.0 version of the app.

— Open a Telegram channel that you manage

— Once you reach there, tap on the channel icon and 3-dot settings’ menu.

— Choose the “start voice chat” option.

— Then tap on the “schedule voice chat” option

— Choose the time and date and press the Start button.

While Telegram was testing this voice chat schedule feature, a new feature also popped up that allows voice chat host to select speakers based on their profile description.

“In addition to this, when the Telegram team was stress-testing their voice chats together with beta testers, several interesting usage patterns came up. Lots of listeners were also browsing other profiles while they listen to the speech. It also became a way for the voice chat host to select speakers based on their profile description,” the blog read.

The upcoming app update would let the users change their name and profile description on the way without closing the chat.
