Yodawy, an Egyptian pharmacy delivery app has partnered with MedNet Egypt, a health programs management platform in a move to serve thousands of insured members and facilitate the process of dispensing insurance medications online through more than 2,000 licensed pharmacies across Egypt within Yodawy medical network.
The deal will see MedNet subscribed members download Yodawy app and with a one-time-only registration, set up an account with their monthly medications ready to be ordered. Also, members can upload a doctor’s prescription and get approvals in a few minutes. Members will no longer need to visit the pharmacy or worry about waiting in line for approvals.
“2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, to say the least. Healthcare is at the center of everyone’s attention. With such an unprecedented increase in awareness and demand for better healthcare services, tech-based innovations are offering invaluable solutions,” stated Dr. Hisham El Shazli, The General Manager of MedNet Egypt. “The Covid-19 crisis has made many patients and health care recipients more present in their homes, which obliged all parties to the medical insurance to strive to provide home delivery for all health care services,” he added.
The new digital process takes place seamlessly over the artificial intelligence assisted platform. Approvals are secured automatically, and orders are directed to the nearest licensed pharmacy to the user, which in turn delivers the medications to their address.
Yodawy, which secured investments from Algebra Ventures, Cventures (CIB’s venture capital arm) amongst other investors earlier in 2019, is at the forefront of pioneering patient-first digital experiences, making healthcare easier and more accessible.
By developing a state-of-the-art medical exchange platform, Yodawy has integrated Egypt’s leading health insurance providers, offering their services digitally to over 1.5 million users and serving them through a network of over 2000 partner pharmacies across Egypt, in addition to expanding their services to include free tele-consultations and home lab requests. Yodawy is on a mission to make healthcare easier.
“Tech-based innovations in the provision of online tools and services, as well as cooperation with leading healthcare companies, are what will provide the opportunity for millions of patients to get better and easier medical service, and this is what we have already started implementing when we cooperated with MedNet, which is one of the largest health programs management companies in Egypt,” said Karim Khashaba, CEO of Yodawy.
