Samsung is pushing ahead with the development of its folding phones. Even before the official presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, important information has already emerged showing how Samsung is greatly improving the phones.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 with Stylus and Under-Display Camera
With the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung is entering double new territory. The new model will not only be the South Korean manufacturer’s first folding phone that can be operated with an S Pen but also the first folding phone with a sub-display camera. The camera for selfies simply disappears under the screen inside the phone and thus no longer disturbs the design:
One can only hope that the camera also has a decent image quality. Previous mobile phones with a sub-display camera have disappointed massively in this respect so that successors have dispensed with this technology. The support of the pen seems much more important:
This makes it possible to use the large display inside in a really productive way. It is currently unclear whether the S Pen can be stored in the housing. We would almost not assume it, but rather expect that you can buy the pen optionally. Perhaps, as with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, there will be a case for storage as an accessory.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 with larger outdoor display
No less interesting is the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 3, where Samsung simply skips the Galaxy Z Flip 2, bringing both folding phones to the same line. This phone gets a much larger outdoor display. It can be used much better when folded up. The display of the predecessor was mischievous. In addition, the cameras are more in focus. It would be desirable if the image quality here improved significantly. It is also conceivable that, as with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the inside camera may be installed under the display. But we do not know that at this stage. It is also unclear when the two folding phones will be introduced. This article will updated when the time comes.
