Did you know that your iPhone or iPad has a hidden function for scanning a document? This option is located in a native application of the iOS operating system.

How do I scan a document with an iPhone or iPad?

Gone are the days when you had to use a printer to scan any document with the help of a computer.

It is possible to scan a document through the Notes application from an iPhone or iPad, depending on the device chosen, which must run on iOS 11 (or later).

To scan a document, all you have to do is:

  • Open the Notes app
  • Add a note
  • Click on the camera icon and choose “Scan Documents.”
  • Frame the document in question after the camera is triggered
  • Click Save
  • Go to the scanned copy in a saved note
  • Sign, share or save your scanned document as a PDF
