This guide will show you how to set up and install Spotify on your phone, computer, smart TV, tablet, and other devices.
Install the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet.
Spotify may be found on a wide range of devices, including most smart TVs, media streaming devices, and smart home stereos.
PC and Mac
Windows
- Open your preferred browser, type https://www.spotify.com/download in the address bar, and press Enter.
- The Spotify website will automatically download the proper installer for you. Open the installer.
- Spotify will install automatically, simply wait will the install completes.
- Spotify will open automatically, and offer to help you create an account, or sign in with your existing Spotify account.
macOS
- Open your preferred browser, type in https://www.spotify.com/download, and press Return.
- Your download will begin immediately. Open the Spotify Installer after it’s finished.
- If you want to open the installer, you’ll be asked. Choose Open.
- The installer will start automatically; all you have to do now is wait for it to finish.
- Spotify will appear in your Applications folder once the installation is complete. Select Finder, then Go > Applications from the drop-down menu.
- Start listening to music on Spotify. You’ll be asked to sign in or create a new account the first time you start the program.
Mobile Devices
Android
- Open the Play Store and go to the top of the page to the Search Bar.
- Type Spotify into the search bar, then choose Spotify from the drop-down menu.
- Install should be chosen.
- To start the app, select Open.
- You’ll be asked to sign in or create a new account the first time you start the program.
iOS Device
- In the App Store, go to the bottom right corner and select Search.
- Select Get for Spotify from the list after typing in Spotify.
- For Spotify, choose Get or Cloud Install.
- Install should be chosen.
- Choose Open.
- You’ll be asked to sign in or create a new account the first time you start the program.
Television and Streaming Devices
Roku
- Select Streaming Channels by pressing the Home button on your remote.
- Pick Search, type in Spotify, and then select Spotify Music from the right-hand list.
- Add a new channel by selecting it.
- A short notice explaining how to move the channel will appear once it has been installed. Choose OK.
- Select Spotify from your channel selection by pressing the Home button on your remote.
- You’ll be asked to sign in or create a new account the first time you start the program.
Chromecast
- Start playing a song or playlist on Spotify on your smartphone. Then, at the bottom, select the Cast icon.
- Choose your Chromecast from the drop-down menu.
- The cover image will appear on your Chromecast as the music begins to play.
- Select it from the bottom to play music on your Chromecast.
Amazon Fire
- Select the Menu option on the Amazon Alexa app.
- Select Skills & Games from the menu.
- Select Search from the drop-down menu at the top.
- Search for Spotify and choose it from the results.
- From the list of available talents, choose Connect Control for Spotify.
- To use, select Enable.

- Select Log In after entering your Spotify Username and Password.
- This connection will be confirmed by Spotify. Read the terms of Amazon’s access carefully. Select Agree at the bottom when you’re ready to proceed and agree to these conditions.
- Your Amazon account is now linked to your Spotify account. Spotify music will be available on your Amazon Fire TV and any Amazon speakers you have.
Samsung Smart TV
- Select the Apps panel at the top of the Apps panel by pressing the Smart Hub button on your remote.
- Choose from a list of Samsung apps.
- Select the left-hand Search field and type in Spotify.
- From the list of apps, choose Spotify.
- On the left, click Download.
- Select Run to launch the Spotify app once it has been installed.
LG Smart TV
- Select the LG Content Store by pressing the Home button on your remote.
- Choose from a variety of apps and games.
- Select Spotify from the drop-down menu.
- On the left, click Install.
Game Consoles
PlayStation 4
- Select the PlayStation Store by pressing the PS button on your controller.
- Select the Search option.
- Enter Spotify and, on the right, pick Spotify for PlayStation music.
- On the left, click Download.
- Select Start to begin PS Music with Spotify integration after it has been installed.
- You’ll be able to login in to your Spotify account or create a new one if you don’t already have one.
Xbox One
