Does it always have to be the latest iPhone? Yes, it is the answer of a YouTuber. He grabbed a very broken iPhone 8 and, in a sense, turned it into his very own iPhone 12. Even Touch ID with home button is included.

Video: Broken iPhone 8 becomes iPhone 12

You can’t do anything with a broken iPhone – or can you? The YouTuber Tech Ninja has grabbed an almost destroyed iPhone 8 with an erratic display and made something like an iPhone 12 out of it. The individual still functioning components of the iPhone 8 were transplanted into a housing of the iPhone 12 without further ado. Even Touch ID is part of the unique hybrid.

The result is awe-inspiring. At first glance, the cobbled-together smartphone can pass as iPhone 12. Only on closer inspection does it become clear that it is not an iPhone 12 after all. The missing notch at the top of the display and the prominent home button does not allow any other conclusion. The display itself is also not rounded at the corners.

In the comments to the video, several users note that Apple is welcome to be inspired when it comes to the iPhone SE 3. Here you can see the entire conversion in the video:

iPhone 8 vs. iPhone 12: Huge Differences

Three years lie between the release of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 12. The iPhone 8 came in 2017 with iOS 11 and a small display (4.7 inches) on the market. On the back was a single camera that allowed images with up to 12 MP. The iPhone 12, it’s a dual camera. Significant differences can also be found in the battery. The iPhone 8 is content with 1,821 mAh, while the iPhone 12 comes to 2,815 mAh. Nevertheless, both mobile phones can be charged in about 30 minutes to half.
