“Subcutaneous” cameras are becoming the new trend in the smartphone industry. After several models signed by ZTE, and the future Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Xiaomi is also preparing to announce a smartphone with an entire screen in the object of the Mi Mix 4.
But if we believe the images that emerged last night, Xiaomi could integrate the Front Camera of the Mi Mix 4 in the middle of its screen – just above the fingerprint sensor.
The Chinese site IT Home publishes photos supposedly straight out of an assembly line. On one of them, we see the bowels of the supposed Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, which carries a cut-out to accommodate the front camera in its centre.
Indeed, unlike the competition, the manufacturer would choose to arrange its camera in the middle of the screen rather than at the top or in a higher corner. However, a surprising choice should allow the taking of more natural self-portraits, which does not require repositioning your smartphone to place it in front of you.
Be that as it may, it will remain to dispel fears about the quality of the shots taken with this masked camera. From what the press observed on the ZTE models, we did not really agree on this.
In addition to this specificity, it also appears that the Mi Mix 4 will carry a second screen on the back. Just like the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, it was released recently. This high-end smartphone would benefit from a Snapdragon 888 SoC, 12 GB of RAM for 256 GB of storage, a 5,000 mAh battery (rechargeable at 120 W), a trio of 50, 48 and 48-megapixel cameras.
So many rumours, suppositions and noises of corridors on which we should not have to currency for very long. For a good reason: IT Home reports that the Chinese manufacturer could announce the Mi Mix 4 as early as August 10 or 11.
A date that corresponds precisely to the brand’s tenth anniversary would also allow Xiaomi to pull the cover to itself. At the same time, Honor and Samsung plan to unveil their novelties on August 11 and 12.
