When did you last watch a good film in the comfort of your own home? You can take advantage of many sensation shows/series & movies on any streaming service right now. In our case, we will use Netflix since it comes at no cost in Kenya. This gives you the right to access several catalogues on the Platform from any location in the country so long as you have an Android 8 plus smartphone and an excellent connection to the internet.

A question of whether streaming your favourite show on whichever device is not the same as doing so on a big screen can be answered below, and here is why

Certification Widevine L1

Many brands are coming up with innovative smartphones day and night. However, not all of them can display content in HD quality while using any streaming service, Netflix in our case. For any device to do so, they must fulfil the following two requirements first

  • The device  must have a certification from Widevine DRM Level 1
  • The service provider must be able to recognize the gadget. In our case Netflix still

For example, the following smartphones already have Widevine L1 Certification

  • Samsung Galaxy M32 Samsung Galaxy F62
  • Samsung Galaxy A51
  • Samsung  Galaxy S 21series
  • Realme XT
  • Realme 5s
  •  Realme X
  • Realme 5 Pro
  • Realme X2
  • Realme X2 Pro
  • Redmi K20 Pro Redmi K20
  • Redmi Note 9 Pro
  •  Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

These are but a few series of smartphones from Samsung that have been certified. The list is so long, and we can mention all the gadgets in one piece. However, to check if your smartphone is certified, consider downloading this application from the play store.

If your smartphone meets the requirements, you can Activate HD viewing in Netflix by:

  • Opening your Netflix Application
  • Choose any show with an HD label
  • Tap the HD label
  • Select Maximum data on the option that appears

Note: If you are running on a cellular network, make sure you have enough  data

Screen AMOLED FHD+

In addition to certification Widevine L1, the quality of the smartphone screen can also affect your viewing experience. Any smartphone that uses a panel AMOLED sustained high-resolution FHD+ in the aspect ratio of the elongated 20:9, so it is very suitable for watching widescreen movies.Because the display dominates about 91,7% part of the face, the video content can also be displayed in immersive.

  • Open Settings on your android smartphone
  • Look for colour mode and set it to vivid
  • Look for the brightness tab and have the brightness on Max

Point check: Most smartphones supporting HD+ screens support fast charging; hence, there is no need to worry about the high brightness draining your phone’s battery fast.

Speaker Dolby Atmos

If you want to enjoy your favourite shows, A smartphone with Dolby Atmos speakers will be convenient as you will benefit from  a surrounding sound while viewing your favourite shows
