ColorOS 12 will be released on October 11, according to Oppo. In addition, the Chinese company is offering a three-year software monitoring service on its Find X line. ColorOS 12 was not launched in the second part of September, according to Oppo’s announcement. This time, the Chinese manufacturer has set a definite deadline for introducing its Android 12 interface.

Oppo promises to unveil “all the facts regarding this new release” as well as its deployment timetable during an event on October 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. It is only known that Find X3 Pro users in Indonesia and Malaysia would be the first to benefit from it.

The brand’s stated objective for this significant upgrade is to “reach more than 110 devices – smartphones and connected items together – and 150 million people globally.” This would make it “Oppo’s largest and quickest upgrade ever.”

It’s still unclear what the manufacturer means when he says “the quickest.” Should we recognize one of the most efficient in terms of execution when compared to other manufacturers? Oppo proposed its Android 12 shortly after Samsung’s One UI 4 since it would not be the first to be released. Or should we take it as a given that Oppo smartphone customers would receive updates more quickly?

Better Software

In any case, the Chinese maker, like a growing number of industry competitors like Samsung and Xiaomi, has stated that it will provide three years of Android upgrades. This guarantee is only valid for the Find X series. Two years of upgrades will be provided for the Reno, F, and K models. Oppo further mentions that “certain A-series phones will benefit.” The security fixes will be applied to the Find X, Reno, F, and K series for four years and the A-series for three years.

Given that OnePlus just announced the merging of OxygenOS and ColorOS into a “new global, unified, and updated operating system,” it may be the newest version of ColorOS. We already know that no more OnePlus smartphones will arrive with OxygenOS out of the box after 2022, but we don’t understand Oppo’s plans.
