It’s simple to change your Google account name if you’ve legally changed your name or simply want to use a new name online. This can be done on a desktop, Android, iPhone, or iPad. Here’s how to do it.

On your desktop, change the name of your Google account.

    • Use the Google Account website to alter your account name if you’re using a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer.
    • To begin, open your preferred web browser and navigate to the Google Account website. Log in to your account there.
    • Click “Personal Info” in the left sidebar after logging in.
    • Click your current account name in the “Basic Info” column on the right.
    • You can now modify the name of your account. Type your new first name in the “First Name” column. Enter your new last name in the “Last Name” column.
    • Then, to preserve your changes, click “Save.”

On Android, you can change the name of your Google account.

On your iPhone or iPad, change your Google name.

Use the Gmail app on your iPhone or iPad to change your account name.

    • To begin, open Gmail on your phone. Tap the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the app (three horizontal lines).

    • Tap your Google account on the “Settings” screen.
    • Choose “Manage Your Google Account” from the drop-down menu.
    • Tap the “Personal Info” option beneath your name.
