Apple Outspaces Samsung In Global Smartphone Sales Growth

Apple out spaces Samsung in Global smartphone sales growth.

To beat the worldwide supply chain delays caused by the Covid-19 outbreak, Apple, the American electronics behemoth, experienced the fastest rise in global smartphone sales in the first quarter of the year.

According to data supplied by Lithuanian e-commerce giant Burga, Apple increased its share of the worldwide smartphone market by 20% in Q1 of this year compared to Q1 of 2021, outpacing South Korean opponent Samsung, which increased its market share by 9%.

Other companies.

However, the South Korean tech giant maintained its lead as the world’s top smartphone vendor, boosting its share to 24% from 22% last year, while Apple follows at 18%, up from 15% last year.

Other smartphone makers saw a loss in market share, headed by Oppo and Vivo, both of which fell by 20%. Xiaomi’s share has also fallen 7.14 percent, while other manufacturers’ shares have fallen 3.57 percent.

Burga stated that despite its handsets being more costly than its competitors, Apple’s rise was fueled by continuous upgrades of new features and inventive designs, as well as tapping into its devoted customer base.

The e-commerce firm said:

“Interestingly, Apple is gaining ground in market share despite the company’s smartphones mainly being considered expensive compared to competitors. It can be assumed that the devices are gaining more appeal with the company leveraging its loyal consumer base that is attracted by the devices’ regular new features and the overall innovative designs,”

According to the company, the smartphone industry will be influenced by how competing companies deal with the current worldwide semiconductor scarcity.
