The Huawei Mate Xs 2 folding smartphone has received a lot of attention in the previous month, especially after its launch in China on April 28th and following the official premiere of the smartphone globally on May 18th, 2022
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, unveiled the foldable smartphone and a slew of new products, including the Huawei Mate Xs 2, WATCH GT3 Pro, WATCH FIT 2 BAND 7, WATCH D, S-TAG, and Health App.
The Huawei Mate Xs 2 was the event’s major attraction, and attendees were delighted to be able to utilize a folding smartphone with a unique “Falcon Wing” folding design, in which the huge primary screen is on the exterior.
The Mate Xs 2 is built on titanium alloy and cemented by carbon fiber and ultra-thin, solid steel. The narrowest component is just 5.4 millimeters thick and weighs only 255 grams when fully unfurled, making it a relatively light folding smartphone. You will also notice a lovely touch of microfiber in your palm when folded.
Features
The OLED screen has a diagonal of 7.8 inches and a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels when folded, and a diagonal of 6.5 inches and a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels when unfolded. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz (touch refresh rate 240Hz), supports the P3 color palette, and has a special Nano Optical Layer or layer that reduces light reflection when folded (glare).
The inner mechanics of this beautifully built smartphone is powered by Qualcomm chipset under Snapdragon 888 backed with Adreno 660 graphics and no 4G connectivity. The storage is limited to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage but can be expanded by 256GB using Huawei’s Nano Memory Card.
The phone runs on EMUI 12, an overlay of the Android 12, which has certain extra features that use the phone’s overlapping capabilities. The battery fitted on this gadget takes a capacity of 4600mAh supported by rapid charging (66W).
It also works with the Huawei M-Pen 2s Stylus digital pen, which detects 4096 distinct pressure levels, connects via Bluetooth, has an 82mAh battery, and can run for up to 10 hours or 40 days standby.
