Apple just revealed the Apple M2, a new CPU used in a new MacBook Air and a generation of the MacBook Pro.
This processor, which is 18% more potent in terms of CPU and 35% more robust in terms of graphics capability than the M1 SoC, should naturally make its way into the iPad Pro, and Apple might release a new version of its “giant” tablet before the end of the year.
Indeed, Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg writer specialising in Apple news, reports that Apple plans to debut a new iPad Pro M2 in September or October of next year.
The introduction of the touch tablet might therefore be included in the keynote, which will also have the announcement of the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8, or it could be held separately.
This iPad Pro M2 would be identical to the model launched in spring 2021, except for a CPU upgrade and a wireless charging option to make charging the tablet easier.
With this 2022 vintage, the camera module might be upgraded, and the 12.9-inch model’s boundaries could be adjusted to add screen space.
In 2023, Apple will unveil a new large iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch screen that will suit Stage Manager, the new multitasking system debuting with iPadOS 16.
