Toyota unveiled two teaser images of a new Land Cruiser that is meant for American market as the 2024 model. The Land Cruiser that will be sold in the United States will be marketed abroad as a Land Cruiser Prado.

Only a few weeks prior, Toyota had published a video with the old Land Cruiser insignia and the phrase “The legend returns.”

After 2021, the Land Cruiser model was retired in the United States, while the 300-series generation underwent a redesign for 2022.

The Lexus GX, a brother of the Prado, was introduced with a sharp, boxy look for its brand-new 2024 generation. Given the Toyota teaser images, it is likely that the US-market Land Cruiser will have a similarly squared-off appearance.

According to reports, the Land Cruiser that will be sold in the United States would have vintage accents like headlamps that look similar to what Toyota did with the FJ Cruiser in more recent years. 

The Toyota TNGA-F body-on-frame platform, which is also used in the 300-series Land Cruiser, will serve as the vehicle’s foundation. The SUV is expected to have a 2-speed transfer case, a Torsen limited-slip center differential, full-time four-wheel drive, and off-road-oriented Overtrail and Overtrail+ modes.
