Safaricom has acknowledged a technical issue causing some M-PESA messages to be inadvertently directed to users’ spam folders.
Fortunately, the company has provided a simple solution to rectify this inconvenience. The telco explains that users experiencing this issue should:
- Open their SMS app and check the Spam & Blocked folder.
- Locate a Safaricom or M-PESA message and unblock it.
- All subsequent messages should then arrive in the main inbox.
“Additionally,” Safaricom advises, “customers using Android smartphones can select the default SMS app as it does not have a spam folder.”
By following these steps, users can ensure they receive important M-PESA messages without any disruptions.
