TikTok seems to be working on a standalone app for photos that would rival Instagram. With both having a huge network of followers, this is likely a major hit for Instagram.
Although TikTok already allows users to share multiple images as SlideShare videos, the new app will give users the freedom to share independent photos. According to a discovery by TheSpAndroid through an APK teardown which is basically a leaked code that reveals the features of n upcoming application, TikTok is aiming to offer a more dedicated photo experience with the photos App. Also, TikTok is likely to allow users to sync their existing photo posts to their main TikTok short video app which is optional.
