mysidekickOften, finding emergency numbers may take especially long, MySidekick, a new shopping application in South Africa has launched an Emergency feature that helps you quickly find numbers for emergency services!

The new feature will allow users to access contacts for ambulances, police stations, poison line, AA and many more by simply launching MySidekick and clicking on the emergency icon to find the numbers for the emergency service they require.

MySidekick has also added two additional safety featuresto help you locate ATMs and Petrol Stations closest to you to help you save time and money and most importantly lives.

Whether you’ve run out of fuel, are stuck in an emergency situation or simply looking for your nearest ATM to buy the hottest specials advertised on MySidekick, your pocket-superhero has got you covered!

The app is specifically important as in South Africa, it is estimated that 900 000 vehicle accidents were reported to the South African Police Service in 2008.  Of these 900 000 accidents, 150 000 people were injured and 60 000 hospitalised.

Accidents occur for many reasons and often due to human error.  This only emphasises the need to be prepared and equipped for any situation. The app aims to be of great help during emergency situations which find everyone unprepared and at times confused. This will help minimise stress during these times.

Apart from the emergency services, MySidekick collects info on all the hottest specials and promotions throughout South Africa to give you a detailed kick-start every morning. As a personal shopping assistant, MySidekick helps users save time and money when browsing for their favourite items, specials, sales and vouchers from major retailers in their areas.

The app also has a database of some of SA’s most respected retailers and is adding new retailers to help users easily search and find stores, contact details and map directions to their favourite retailers and malls.
