Sub-Saharan Africa generated the most jobs per world region between 2009 & 2014

2015W9.1Data from the ILO database shows that Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) registered the highest job growth by volume among all world regions between 2009 and 2014 – 6 times the job growth in  developed economies & the EU. SSA is poised to create the second highest number of new jobs – second only to South Asia – between 2014 and 2019. Complementing these statistics, World Bank data shows that several African countries have single digit unemployment rates, including Rwanda (0.6%) which has the world’s third lowest unemployment rate.
