Mobile East Africa 2014 Conference Set for February

ID-10081034East Africa’s mobile innovation conference Mobile East Africa 2014 is set for February 2014 from the 12th and 13th February 2014, with Tomi Ahonen, the man Forbes said is the world’s most influential expert in mobile in 2012.
Coming to Kenya for the first time, Ahonen will deliver a special address at the Mobile East Africa conference, now in its fourth year.
Other speakers include Andrew Waititu, Managing Director for East Africa at SAP, Jose Henriques, Group VP Data at Airtel Africa, Algy Williams, of  Every1Mobile, a leading mobile media development firm and Ghana’s Robert Lamptey, CEO of Saya.  Also sheduled to speak is Kenya’s Nanjira Sambuli, iHub Research, Samuel Majani founder Ghafla! and Mark Kaigwa and senior representatives from IBM, Google and Safaricom.
Themed “expanding mobile data usage and driving monetisation through industry collaboration” the event will bring together key stakeholder groups together to talk on the future of mobile in East Africa. The event will also run the Mobile Marketing East Africa Focus Day on Tuesday 11th February.
Last year’s event focused on the growth of the mobile ecosystem in the region through interaction and relationship building and was attended by hundreds from across the continent. iROKO Partners, Safaricom, Kenya ICT board and ThoughtWorks are among this years sponsors.
