sondeka-on-blackPomp and culture meet this season in this one of a kind creative showcase. Starting Friday the 18th of October at 7.00 pm, The Ngong Race Course hosts Sondeka Creative Festival 2014. Sondeka, translating to ‘create’, is a three day long event in appreciation of artsy, quirky, entrepreneurial Nairobi. Sondeka invites us to recognize that our cultural identity is taking form thanks to the expressions from Kenyans following their creativity.

Get ready for a fresh urban feel mixed with the nostalgia of everything African. Veteran names in music share a stage with the soon-to-be-hottest local talent and those currently making hits: them Mushrooms and Kalamashaka, Sarabi and Parking Lot Grass are just a few names from over thirty musical talents lined up.

Away from the beating drums, we’ll keep up the heart rate at the Zumba, African Yoga and Salsa dancing workshops. Creative skill workshops in photography, dance, innovation, blogging will bring successful individuals together with budding professionals for skill sharing. The vibrancy and activity of the extravaganza is interspersed with exhibitions from artists and innovators. Don’t worry about missing the action if you blink for a second, even with children in tow, because activities for all are taken care of and spelled out at www.sondekafestival.com.

Take the opportunity to get you in touch with your inner child, hi-tech creator, social animal and music lover over these three magical days. Head over to Ticketsasa (https://www.ticketsasa.com/eventdetail/view/952/sondeka_festival_2014) to purchase a season ticket (3 days) at kshs 1500, or kshs 700 for a day ticket.
