Nigeria’s 9jabookings.com has launched to be the biggest online talent and celebrity booking platform in Nigeria.

Speaking to TechMoran, Balogun Danjuma CEO 9jabookings.com said, “The major aim and objective of the website is to enable talents and Nigerian celebrities get more performance opportunities at shows and events across Nigeria. The website is a one click access to booking talents and celebrities. Whenever and wherever you are, so far you have internet or mobile access; you can book artistes for your wedding, birthday party and various social events. Everything happens right there at your fingertips.

By cutting off all the middlemen, 9jabookings aims to help users plan or book the entertainment services of any top band, musician, comedian or celebrity in the country. Targeting the over 100, 000 Nigerian celebrities in the country and more coming up everyday, the startup says booking Nigerian artistes is a very lucrative one as many Hip-hop acts charge as much as 2million naira for a 15minutes performance.

The platform is not short of clients, the firm says the entire Nigerian populace is it’s target market, but priorities are being given to corporate bodies and private individuals.  The firm says the platform will also artistes get more performance at shows and events and reduce booking scams and hassles associated with booking artistes.

The platform is easy to use. Users log on to www.9jabookings.com, and once they get on the homepage, search for the name or category of the artiste of their choice or click on “celebrities” . Search results of the available artistes come up with their estimated charge per show. What a user has to do is just click “book now” and submit offer. Then the firm’s dedicated call centre gets down to work.
“We have already been booking Nigerian artistes through our platform since our pre launch 6 months ago. We have been registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission to show that we are a credible and legal source and we also have a working relationship with the Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN). We have secured funding from Nairabet‘ s CEO Akin Alabi.
