Appearance & Design

The front of the phone has camera at the right, an earpeace in the top middle  and Wiko logo on the top left. At the botton, the phone has a home button in the middle, a menu button on the bottom left and a return button on the bottom right.

On the left edge, the phone has volume rocker while on the right it has an on/off lock button.

On the back, the phone has a loudspeaker on its back bottom, a Wiko logo three quarters on its spine and camera lens and LED Flash at the top left. The top edge has 3.5mm headphone jack and a Micro USB port.

Perfomance

For those looking for an affordable Android smartphone, we found the Wiko Rainbow to be a first with its 5 inch display screen, 1.3GHZ quad-processor and running on 4.4 kitkat. Buyers can choose between black, white, purple, coral and yellow and three other colours of their choice.

Coming with four coloured casings available in 7 colours, the phone Dual SIM phone is nearly 146*74*10 mm and weighs around 165g (minus battery) and a 1 GB RAM, an 8 GB internal memory with an expandable memory slot of up to 32 GB, able to store anyone’s huge library of music and movies or download as many apps as possible. Though it would have been massive if it had a Dropox or any other storage packages.

The 2500 mAh Li-Po battery is pretty longlasting and takes up to 8 hours on heavy 3G use-Tweeting, playing games, online among others.
2_c0e126f75f64559176b518a5f4c0f0f4With a  8-megapixel main camera users can take crystal clear photos but the phone’s 2-megapixel front facing camera is not impressive but the good thingthe camera has a Panorama function which allows for multi-angle viewing mode. The 8MP camera good for videos too and users can take a full length video with the camera depending on their storage capacity.

Wiko Rainbow has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, which allows users to multitask browse the smoothly and as well do basic gaming and take HD videos minus killing the processor or slowing the phone down.

As an Android-powered phone, users of the Wiko Rainbow have access to over 70,000 free apps from the Google Play store which they can download to the phone internatl memory. The phone’s huge screen allows for both home and office use with a powerful processor for quicker navigation and faster execution and responsiveness. The 5 inch TFT, capacitive touch screen HD is great for both video, camera and documents making the phone usable in a play, work or business environment.

Verdit

At Ksh 16,000 the phone is affordable and 5 inch display is standard and we like that. At that price range the processor is good, so is the phone’sperfomance. We love that the phone’s main camera has a flash and the HD display is good too.

We don’t like the 5MP and 2MP cameras. We think the phone’s memory is limited and Wiko has no special deal with Dropbox or anyother similar apps for more storage. We think the casings are so weak even though the phone looks cute. We don’t like the phone’s WiFi routers
