Easyagro is Enabling Nigerian Farmers Sell Their Products Online

Easyagro is an e-commerce marketplace platform created specifically for small-scale farmers, all Agribusinesses and Final consumers of Agricultural products and services.

Launched in August 2016 by Alao Ouwatoyin, users can buy and sell Agricultural products and services via the portal, compare prices of different sellers, find specific stores, search based on price and category.

Categories on the platform include made-in-Nigeria products, vegetables, livestock, grains/sea food, fruits, spices and many others

The goal of the platform according to the founder is to empower small-scale farmers to have direct access to the urban market demands at the comfort of their farm and also to build a link between farmers and key players in Agricultural sector, including – agro-storage companies, groceries shopping malls, manufacturing companies, value adding companies, logistics, hotels, eateries, the urban market trade Union and to the final consumer of Agricultural products and services.

Although, the agriculture sector in Nigeria is one sector that contributes the highest to the nation’s GDP. This is despite limited resources available to farmers, and young shying away from agriculture. With Easyagro, it’s an opportunity for farmers to get their products out, and increase sales.
