A lot is being done to promote made-in-Nigeria goods, as foreign products have taken over pushing local manufacturers behind the scene. Recently, the federal government of Nigeria also launched the #BuyNaija campaign to promote Nigerian made goods.
Tembe.com.ng is a platform contributing to this fight by providing local manufacturers an avenue to sell their products, without having to compete for attention with foreign-made goods.
The platform was designed exclusively to allow Nigerians buy and sell made-in-Nigeria goods. Categories on the platform range from gadgets, to fashion and art.
Vendors register and post products for free, only paying a small percentage after a concluded sale. This percentage also depends on the category, between 3% to 35%.
The platform helps with payment processing and delivery logistics. Customers can also rate and review the quality of products they have purchased
Tembe’s idea is laudable and is sure to help strengthen the efforts to make Nigerians embrace locally made goods.
