Gionee is one of those smartphone brand with stronghold both in the Africa and Asia smartphone scene. The company have released amazing devices with great, detailed and individual specs in the past and now, the Chinese OEM is here again with yet another good one.

This month, reports have suggested that Gionee will be unveiling the Gionee M7 which will be the brand’s pioneering smartphone as it delves into the production of bezel less phones. Accompanying the Gionee M7 will be a better and bigger version, the Gionee M7 Power.

Gionee confirmed that it is truly working on a bezel less smartphone through a post shared on its Weibo page. The post contained an image template showing how the M7 would be and illustrating how much bezel it would have.

Attached to the image were two bicycle wheels which most people have suggested could mean the Gionee M7 will come with a dual rear camera set-up. However, according to GSMArena, the bicycle wheels signifies that Gionee would be launching the upcoming Gionee M7 and M7 Plus with Ofo, a bike-sharing start-up in Beijing, China.

The Gionee M7 is expected to be a big deal as Gadgets360 have reported that the device will be powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio P30 processor. The processor will have a super fast speed of 2.3GHz and come with 6GB of RAM. Gadgets360 also reports that the Gionee M7 will have a full HD (FHD) display with a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and come with same aspect ratio as the current smartphone big boys – the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30.

Other features of the upcoming M7 as spotted on popular benchmarking website, GFXBench reveals that the Gionee M7 will come with a 6 inch screen, dual 16 megapixels rear camera, 8 megapixels front camera, single SIM card support, 64 GB of internal storage, Android Nougat OS, ARM-Mali-G71 GPU, and a special data encryption chip for beefed up security. Can’t say what that means for sure but we will definitely find out soon.

There is no info as regards the battery capacity yet but as history have shown, Gionee doesn’t disappoint in the battery department of her devices.

Going by speculated features of the Gionee M7 obtained from several sources, the M7 can be said to stand as a good competition and alternative for the high-end, premium and costlier Samsung Galaxy S8, Note 8, LG V30 and others.

The Gionee M7 will succeed the Gionee Marathon M6 and will be launched on September 28 at a Gionee event in Bangkok China.
