Lenovo Legion gaming phone will be operating on the latest Snapdragon 865 and a 5G modem.  Further,  a 144Hz display, DDR5 RAM, and UFS storage.

The phone will be particularly a gaming smartphone with a lot of boosters for the hardware so the device performs well under pressure.

Razer, ASUS, Nubia and Xiaomi have all attempted to release gaming phones in the market. Which Lenovo now joins the challenge with a rather significant brand name that might put it ahead of the rest.

Lenovo already has an established gaming division, with Legion laptops like the Y540-15IRH and Y740-17IRH

The company through teasers on Weibo revealed that the upcoming gaming smartphone will be launched under its Legion branding.

Furthermore, the company has revealed that the smartphone will score more than 600,000 points on AnTuTu, which would be a new record for a smartphone.

Notable Features of Gaming Smartphones

Hardware

Gaming phones are powered by the latest and fastest chipsets along with GPU for graphics. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with Adreno 640 GPU. The RAM capacity is also pretty high with phones offering up to 12GB of RAM.

Lenovo running on the Snapdragon 865 could translate into higher performance than the rest.

Bigger and faster display

Gaming phones come with big displays sized up to 6.5-inches. Other than having high resolution, displays on gaming phones also offer a high refresh rate. Refresh rates are the speed at how much displays update for smoother graphics.

Cooling mechanism

Any smartphone heats up due to prolonged use. One feature common in gaming phones is a dedicated cooling mechanism. This feature keeps the phone from overheating in the times of intensive gaming. For example, the Nubia Red Magic 3 is the first phone to come with an built-in fan in addition to a liquid cooling system. Asus ROG Phone also comes with an accessory for additional cooling.
