Samsung has officially announced the 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 version released early this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be launched on August 5th together with the Galaxy Note 20 series.
The device is an upgrade of the 4G version that comes with an improved foldable experience for users. The major changes include the 5G radios and an upgraded snapdragon 865 plus processor.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is the first device in Samsung’s Galaxy line-up to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform. This new platform maximizes the power of 5G with revved-up performance. To deliver faster and more efficient on-device processing with sharper imagery through improved graphics rendering.
Samsung has also added minor software enhancements on the Z Flip 5G including a “Flex” mode that lets software reconfigure itself when the phone is half-folded.
The Flex mode enhancement lets you easily and simultaneously view and control content with the Galaxy Z Flip’s custom-built user experience. Which utilizes its unique forward folding form factor. When the device is free-standing, the display automatically splits into two 4-inch screens. So you can view content on the top half of the display, and control on the bottom half. A feature that makes the Z-Flip more unique.
You will be able to enjoy YouTube in Flex mode while streaming on the top half of your device. The Flex mode also allows the camera app to work in more angles. Additionally, it allows multitasking on the device, App pairing and a multi-window Tray that is part of more robust Edge Panel integration which adds more convenience, providing access to more apps.
Ahead of the launch, Samsung has already confirmed that the phone will go on sale in select markets starting august 7th 2020. The price might vary depending on the market but Samsung maintains that it will stick around the same of the 4G version.
According to The Verge, the phone is like to sell at $1,450, a $70 premium over the 5G version.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G brings the speed of 5G without added bulk. Solidifying the device as one of the most stylish and compact 5G foldable smartphones available.
Samsung added the components necessary to bring 5G connectivity to life. While maintaining the Galaxy Z Flip’s sleek, bold form factor for ultimate portability.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G comes in two new premium colours. This includes Mystic Gray and Mystic Bronze, all encased in glass with a haze finish that is soft to the touch while minimizing fingerprints.
