StarTimes ON app now available for VIDAA OS TVs.

The streaming application StarTimes ON will now be available on VIDAA-powered Hisense smart TVs, according to starTimes and VIDAA.

StarTimes ON is a mobile application developed by Africa’s largest digital television provider, StarTimes. It provides a premium user experience by combining live TV channels with extensive Video On Demand (VOD) content.

VIDAA developed a completely new and revised user interface called 4.0 in 2020, which prioritizes consumers and their ways of consuming content. VIDAA is preinstalled on all new Hisense TVs, as well as Hisense-made Toshiba Smart TVs.

Mr. Aldrine Nsubuga, StarTimes Regional Marketing Director, stated that the online mobile application will continue to offer over 150 local and international channels, as well as 20,000 hours of on-demand programming covering religion, movies, TV series, news, kids’ shows, music, documentaries, and sports, including the ongoing Euro 2020 and other European football competitions such as La Liga and FA Cup.

Launching StarTimes ON on VIDAA-powered Hisense devices gives users an additional platform to enjoy StarTimes ON’s rich content portfolio that will lead to an unprecedented television experience. StarTimes ON provides access to live, replays, and key highlights of premium content in a variety of languages, including English, French, Portuguese, Swahili, Hausa, Hindi, Yoruba, and Chinese. Users accessing premium content on the platform enjoy Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD), and Ultra High Definition (UHD) content.

Subscribers can also attach their set-top boxes to the app, giving them access to an electronic wallet that allows them to pay for their subscriptions using Co-operative, KCB bank, Equitel, Mpesa, or Airtel money. Subscribers that recharge their accounts online receive a 5% reduction on their monthly subscription fee, as well as other self-service alternatives such as change of bouquets and a review of their payment history for the pay television service.

The App streams content over 2G, 3G, or 4G networks with up to 30% less data consumption because to its user-friendly design.
