Muthungu Antony, a 28-year-old man from Kirinyanga County has started his own manufacturing company, the totosci holdings limited, that manufactures cables and chargers for electronic gadgets such as phones and laptops, has received mixed reactions as part of the effort to develop Africa in the area of innovation.
TOTOSCI holdings limited, which is located in Kiagwaci, Kirinyanga county, is the name of the factory. His hard effort and determination was praised by Kenyans. Among the senior leaders who applauded Antony’s initiative are Kirinyanga women’s representative purity Ngirici, Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja, and scholar PLO Lumumba.
The company manufactures iPhone and Android chargers and cables. Some of the types include Type C, Type xx, xx, xxx. Muthungu Antony further stated that they intend to begin producing mobile phones and earphones as soon as possible. The team is now working on making its products available to all Kenyans across the country.
Kenya has 10 million smartphone users, according to Global Market Statistics. All of these users charge their gadgets and transmit data using a USB cord. The market has been flooded with fake USB cables that do not meet the criteria due to the large number of users of the cables.
As a result, every smartphone owner has two or three broken USB cables in their houses. The majority of the issues are related to breakage at the end point owing to folding tension and internal wire breakage.
In comparison to the cables currently on the market, TOTOSCI has invented locally produced USB cables that are of excellent quality and authentic. Their cable is KEBS-approved and Brand Kenya-certified as an authentic made-in-Kenya product.
