Here’s everything you need to know about Apple’s new AirPods 3 wireless headphones.

Unsurprisingly, the new AirPods inherit a design that is quite similar to the AirPods Pro and touch controls on the earphone stems. Apple’s new AirPods 3 have been anticipated for months, and the company finally put an end to the speculation by announcing them during its most recent keynote. The AirPods Pro’s design and the active noise cancellation in less noisy environments are both attractive.

As a result, the AirPods 3 has a new design based on the AirPods Pro, which the company unveiled at the end of 2019. With an IPX4 certification, the brand claims that these headphones are now water and sweat-resistant.

The wireless headphones’ rods are thus shorter, and the format has been slightly altered, but the headphones are still button models with no silicone tips that protrude more profound into the ear. Active noise cancellation is, of course, a feature reserved for professional models and not included in the AirPods 3.

To adjust the audio or take a call, Apple has integrated touch controls on the AirPods 3’s poles. Siri is also included in the game and can be accessed by saying “Hey Siri” to start playing a song or album, sending a message, or asking questions. The charging case is now broader and shorter due to the format change, but it is still small enough to fit into most pockets.

More durable and faster

The AirPods 3 include Adaptive EQ technology, which uses a unique equalizer that works in real time to provide the most refined audio representation possible based on the geometry of the ear canal.

The AirPods 3 will continue to support the SBC and AAC codecs but will not play high-resolution songs, such as those found on Apple Music. If you connect your AirPods 3 to your Apple TV 4K, the headphones will support Spatial Audio for both songs and Dolby Atmos engineering.

Finally, these new genuinely wireless headphones have a battery life of six hours on a single charge and 30 hours with the charging case, which is an improvement over the AirPods 2, which had a total battery life of 24 hours. It’s worth noting that the charging case comes included with a MagSafe-compatible wireless charging mechanism.
