Startupbootcamp AfriTech and Telecel Group have opened applications for the second edition of the Africa Startup Initiative Program (ASIP), which provides funding and support to selected companies.

The accelerator’s second edition is now accepting applications for the next generation of African startups disrupting industries such as agri-tech, fintech, IoT and connectivity, machine learning, cybersecurity, clean-tech, and reg-tech.

The Government of Senegal, through DER/FJ, a youth and women empowerment structure established by the President of the Republic of Senegal, is one of the cohort’s partners. Startups will gain public-sector knowledge and support with the help of DER/FJ, allowing them to scale their impact even further.

The three-month program will begin in April, and applications will be accepted until January 28.

Startupbootcamp AfriTech was founded in 2017 as the first pan-African startup accelerator funded by multiple corporations. It launched the Africa Startup Initiative Programme in March with Telecel Group, which aims to promote the next generation of early-stage African tech startups disrupting a wide range of sectors.

ASIP aims to support young startups with innovative ideas that make a positive impact in their communities, and ten startups were selected for the first program in June. Selected startups receive $18,000 in equity funding, as well as $750,000 in credits, services, and in-kind value.
