Realme debuts realme C25Y, the first 50MP camera smartphone in the C series

Realme has released the first 50MP smartphone in the C series, the realme C25Y in East Africa. It’s the first C series model to feature with 50MP AI triple camera system besides being a top choice of an entry-level smartphone.

 The model is an addition to expanding the footprint of the realme brand across the Eastern Africa smartphone market.

“The demand for high quality, reliable and high-performance phones that are budget-friendly are on the rise which has seen our C series model at realme become the bestselling model in the market. Hence the launch of the new realme C25Y an addition to the C series catalogue. And a step towards the expanding footprint of the realme brand across the Eastern Africa smartphone market,” said Mildred Agoya, PR & Marketing Manager, realme Kenya.

The high demand and massive sales have skyrocketed the brands global ranking. In just threes years, realme has been featured as the top 6 smartphone vendor in the global rankings, according to the latest market insights conducted by Counterpoint Research. realme scooped a 5 per cent global market share and 134 per cent YoY growth in Q2 2021. With the top seller c-series taking shape in the market, there’s room for realme to bug among the top five spots in the next quarter with the new device now in the market.

What does the new C25Y bring on baord?

The realme C25Y is the first C series model to feature with 50MP AI triple camera system. It also packs a 5000mAh mega battery that supports 18W quick charge, a Unisoc T610 powerful processor with an instant fingerprint sensor, and a 6.5-inch large display with a line aesthetic design among other features.

Price, colour and availability

The realme C25Y will be priced around KES 19,000. We will give an update on availability. The device comes in two variant colours, Metal Grey and glacier blue. :

Features and specifications

Camera

The realme C25Y serves up a 50MP triple rear camera system headlined by a 50MP primary module, alongside a Marco lens and B&W lens. As the first phone in the realme C Series to feature a 50MP mode, realme C25Y provides clearer photo shooting, enabling users to put out large pixel photos up to 8160*6144.

In addition, the camera department also supports AI beauty function, HDR mode, panoramic view mode, Portrait mode, Timelapse function, Expert mode, and offers several filters.

Meanwhile, on the front, the new realme adopts an 8MP selfie camera with AI beauty function, making it easier to shoot a stunning and satisfying selfie picture.

Battery perfomance

The realme C25Y comes with a 5000mAh Mega Battery & 18W Quick Charge that guarantees a long-time usage rated batter that can last for 48 days in standby mode. 

On the Super Power Saving Mode, users can still maintain the basic functionality of their phones by using six common apps even at low power, keeping them always powered and connected.

Besides, the realme C25Y also features Screen Battery Optimization to increase the smartphone’s endurance by lowering some display effects, and Sleep Standby Optimization to save power by instructing the phone to run on lower mode when users are asleep.

Platfrom

The realme C25Y is powered by an octa-core 12nm Unisoc T610 processor that clocks up to 1.8GHz, which comprises two Arm Cortex-A75 operating up to 1.8GHz, and six Arm Cortex-A55 running up to 1.8GHz. The graphics are handled by ARM Mali G52 GPU with a clock speed of 614.4MHz.

Compared to competing products in this segment, the score of the Unisoc T610 processor goes higher, delivering a smooth gaming experience seamlessly.

What’s more, the new realme supports two Nano-SIM cards and a MicroSD card slot for additional storage up to 256GB, bringing more room to store games, photos and files.

Display

The realme C25Y continues to use the realme’s classic mini-drop design fullscreen, featuring a large 16.5cm/6.5inch display with a screen-to-body ratio as high as 88.7%, giving users immersive watching experiences. 

The new realme also comes with ultra-fast fingerprint unlocking and facial recognition protecting users’ privacy with convenience.

In terms of aesthetics, realme C25Y has adopted the line aesthetic design for the first time, which visualizes the abstract aesthetics of line and presents the arrangement of “line” and “surface” by the design method.

Memory

The phone houses a MicroSD dedicated sim slot and internal memory of 4GBRAM and external128ROM
