The manufacturer’s following two operating systems will have many safeguards that will keep consumers safe in the face of data theft efforts. Even if Apple spoke at length about iOS 16 and macOS Ventura during WWDC 2022, the company would not be able to cover all of the advancements made to these two systems.
Apple has chosen to highlight the most exciting features of its upcoming operating system while ignoring the minor security enhancements. Despite this, there are a lot of them.
The Cupertino brand will implement a new mechanism known as Rapid Security Response. The latter will enable Apple to provide urgent security fixes for iPhones, iPads, and other MacBooks without requiring a full system update.
Except in rare circumstances, these patches will be deployed silently on your device and will not require a reboot. The patches will go unnoticed by the user, and this new device, which is modelled after Google’s Play Services, will allow Apple to patch severe faults in its system quickly.
The password security issues will also be improved by adding a new option to link vital authentication programs to both operating systems’ Passwords sections. The Safari web browser will also recommend a strong password that may be modified to fit the needs of a website on iOS 16 and macOS Ventura. It will be a matter of eliminating special characters or adding a number or a capital letter.
Apple also announced Passkeys, a biometric-based identification system that might eventually replace passwords. The company collaborates with the FIDO alliance, Microsoft, and Google to develop a cross-platform solution that can be used on any machine. Safari will support the creation and usage of Passkeys, although Apple has cautioned that widespread adoption will take time.
