We can all agree that WhatsApp has become one popular communication app in the country and also globally.

The app can be used casually as a means of communication with family and friends, but it can also be used as an official channel of communication for an organization via WhatsApp Groups or Communities, and soon, the Channels.

To write is to error! Fortunately, you can edit a message on WhatsApp. The latest WhatsApp feature helps you fix a minor typo or add additional information.

However, one must note that a message is only eligible for editing within a timeframe of up to fifteen minutes.

Rest assured, the edited messages will be labeled as “edited” so that the recipients are aware of the correction, without revealing the edit history.

Ensure you have the updated version of WhatsApp.

To make changes to your message, please follow these instructions:

  1. Open the WhatsApp conversation where you wish to edit the message you recently sent.
  2. Press and hold the message you want to edit: On Android, tap the pencil icon located in the toolbar above. On iOS, select the Edit option from the displayed menu. This will enable you to edit the sent message.
  3. After making the necessary edits, tap the checkmark next to the text input to confirm the changes you’ve made to the message.

As always, your messages, including media and calls, are safeguarded by end-to-end encryption, ensuring their privacy.

Also, you can try out the other latest feature on WhatsApp, Chat Lock, which allows you to add an extra layer of protection to your most private conversations.

By locking a chat, it is moved to a separate folder that can only be accessed with your device password or biometric authentication, such as a fingerprint.

Additionally, the contents of the locked chat are automatically hidden in notifications.

This feature is particularly useful for those who occasionally share their phones with family members or when someone else is temporarily holding your phone.

To lock a chat, simply tap on the name of a one-to-one or group chat and select the lock option.

To access locked chats, slowly pull down your inbox and enter your phone password or use biometric authentication.

Try out these new features!
