Epson, a global technology company has embarked on a significant initiative by donating printers, projectors, and visualizers to 80 Kenyan schools.

This endeavor is part of a larger mission to distribute over 800 EcoTank printers and numerous interactive classroom kits across eight countries in the Middle East and Africa region (MENA).

The beneficiaries of this commendable gesture are 80 schools in Kenya, which will receive state-of-the-art equipment aimed at enriching the teaching and learning experience.

Among the donated items are 800 EcoTank printers, valued at approximately Sh4.9 million, along with an unspecified quantity of interactive classroom kits.

Collaborating with Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Epson ensures last-mile support for the deployment of these resources. Additionally, the Ministry of Education is a crucial partner in this initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for educational advancement.

The impact of Epson’s donation is multifaceted. Firstly, it aligns with the implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), championed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu. The practical applications facilitated by these technological tools complement the CBC’s objectives, fostering a more interactive and engaging learning environment.

Moreover, the provision of EcoTank printers offers energy-efficient and sustainable printing solutions to schools.

Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa, highlights the longevity of these printers, equipped with enough ink to last up to three years, thus ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ involvement further enhances the initiative by facilitating internet connectivity for the beneficiary schools. This connectivity, as emphasized by Ben Roberts, the Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, enhances access to information and resources, thereby bridging the digital divide.

Adil El Youssefi, Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, underscores the partnership’s significance in making education more accessible and empowering Kenyan youth.
