After the rollout of Circle to Search for the Pixel 8 and 7 series, Google is extending this feature to all Tensor-powered Pixel devices.
Initially launched in January for the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and Galaxy S24 series, and later added to the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro via the March Feature Drop, Circle to Search is now being introduced to the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7a starting this week. Additionally, it will become available on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series through a server-side update, requiring users to ensure they have the latest version of the Google app installed. Once activated, users can access Circle to Search by long-pressing on the navigation bar.
The Pixel Fold and Tablet are next in line to receive the visual search tool, with Google promising its arrival soon, completing the integration across the Google hardware family.
Circle to Search will gain translation functionality, in the upcoming weeks. Upon activation, a new button will appear adjacent to the search bar, facilitating instant translation of on-screen content while seamlessly maintaining contextual relevance by replacing the original text.
Shoppers have also got sorted, Google is introducing more personalized “style recommendations” for apparel, footwear, and accessories searches, such as “straw tote bags” or “men’s polo shirts.” Users can rate options using thumbs up or down, or swiping right or left, to receive tailored results based on their preferences, with Google remembering these preferences for future queries.
Additionally, users can easily manage their preferences by tapping the three dots next to a search result and accessing personalization options within the “About this result” panel.
