Airtel and Kaspersky have partnered to protect PCs and smartphones. Customers of Airtel can purchase Kaspersky Total Security products through the company’s app as part of this agreement. Furthermore, consumers will receive unique deals as part of the same promotion.

According to the cybersecurity business, cyber threats have reached 37,650,472. This alliance is designed to raise cybersecurity awareness among consumers. Indeed, according to Kaspersky, mobile attacks have grown in the last two years.

Airtel, in particular, is investing in cutting-edge technology like machine learning and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the telecom operator is concentrating on small and medium-sized businesses. The corporation also announced the establishment of a security intelligence center with a Rs. 100 crore investment.

To provide cybersecurity solutions to its customers, the telecom operator is collaborating with several organizations, including VMware, Radware, and Force.

The COAI has issued a warning about the KYC document. In the meantime, the Cellular Operator Association of India has advised the public not to reply to fraudulent SMS or calls regarding KYC paperwork. According to the industry group, some shady characters are phoning customers and threatening to block SIM cards.

“The mails and calls fraudulently state that the customer’s KYC documents are incomplete, pending, or expired, and instruct recipients to call a certain number or download an app on their phones,” said S P Kochhar, Director General of COAI. Furthermore, the industry group encouraged the public not to fall for such texts and phone calls.

Vodafone-Idea Issues Statement Against Online & KYC Frauds

Similarly, Vodafone-Idea informed its customers to beware of SMS scams. The fraud is linked to Vodafone-Idea customers’ eKYC.

These con artists often pose as company personnel and threaten naïve consumers with SIM blockage if KYC is not completed. In the name of verification, they may even ask clients for specific confidential information,” the telecom operator added.

Customers are advised not to respond to these texts or calls because this may result in the theft of their personal information or details. Customers should contact their telecom service provider for assistance if they require it.
