If your printer is networked then you should make sure that the Ethernet cable is properly inserted.

If the printer is wireless then you have to check your internet connection or  you should make sure it’s connected to your router firmly.

If you’re connected through cable, then try using the end of the printer cable in different ports or sockets of your device.

Use different cables to make sure that the fault is not with the cable alone. If you’re on a network or wireless device then the simple method  is to attach the cable to your computer or device to make sure that your printer is working. By this you would be able to know that the fault could be with your network connection.
