   While smartphones help us stay in touch with colleagues, keep on top of our inbox, and complete urgent tasks on the move, they actually make us less productive when we are working at our desks, according to a new psychological experiment by the Universities of Würzburg and Nottingham Trent, commissioned by Kaspersky Lab. The experiment unearthed a correlation between productivity levels and the distance between  participants and their smartphone. Basically, IP addresses and are used behind the scenes whenever data is moved online. Users that have suffered from Polyglot ransomware, also known as MarsJoke, can now restore their files thanks to the decryption tooldeveloped by Kaspersky Lab experts. The Polyglot Trojan has been propagating via spam emails containing a malicious attachment packed in a RAR-archive. The government of Tanzania is set to put up an Internet Data Centre (IDC) at Kijitonyama, in Kinondoni municipality, Dar es Salaam worth million (nearly 200bn/-) , a move that is widely seen as able to propel the country to ICT hub status. A group of international researchers led by the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research at the University of Leicester have used space satellite technology to identify regions of West Africa which are vulnerable to the effects of land degradation through climate change. The team studied land degradation in Sub-Saharan West Africa, covering an area of approximately 6,140,000 km2, using statistical residual trend analysis (RESTREND) of vegetation photosynthetic capacity data (GIMMS NDVI3g), soil moisture and rainfall measured by satellites.
