Nokia 4.2 now receiving Android 10 update

Nokia 4.2 devices are now receiving an Android 10 update. the OS rollout is expected to be complete by April 14th. The update packs  Android 10 gestures, a native dark mode, privacy and location controls. Including an overall better user experience.

HMD Global launched the Nokia 4.2 in February 2019. The phone has been operating on an Android 9 pie initially pre-installed in the device.

The update has been confirmed by Nokia’s chief product officer Juho Sarvikas in a twitter post. ” Nokia 4.2 owners, your device just got even better. You can now update to android 10 with all-new features available”

The Android 10 brings in a redesigned UI to the Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 7.2  along with new gesture navigation, Smart Reply, new location and privacy controls, Family Link, and Focus Mode. The update will roll out in batches. With the first wave including 43 countries including some parts of Africa.

Since its rollout in September 2019, most devices have now received the update. Among other features. Android 10 lets you create a QR code for your Wi-Fi- network and scan the QR codes to join a Wi-Fi network.

Android 10 also adds more location control. You have the full control location updates. Prior to the update, once you gave the app access to your location, it will always have access. With Android 10, the app can only access your location information while only using it.
