OPPO Reno3 was recently launched in Kenya under OPPO’s flagship model category, Reno series. Our good friends at OPPO Kenya, through their PR firm, Engage BCW managed to give us a Midnight Black review unit and we are giving it a spin for you.

With a 48MP, 20x Digital Zoom Camera; a first-of its kind 44MP Front Camera with Ultra Night Selfie Mode and Ultra Steady Video 2.0, the smartphone has been dubbed as the “Fashionable Image Master” for its great photography.

OPPO Reno3 runs the firm’s latest ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 and retails at Ksh 39,999. Our unboxing is coming in a bit late due to COVID-19 but customers who pre-order the device were to get a pair of OPPO headphones and an in-vehicle phone charger.

Overview

Just a quick overview, OPPO Reno3 is a beautiful phone. The firm did a great job with the packaging and one could see premium quality even before they inbox it.

The phone really looks sleek and fits my palm with ease. Though its edges are so smooth it can easily slide out of my palm or jeans pocket but overall, you will love its design. We will talk about the display and performance in our review next week but today we will look at the phone’s appearance quickly.

The phone’s display screen has a notch holding its LED light at the top front. At the bottom are the usual home, recent and back buttons at the bottom. The phone’s back, top left has its quad-camera, LED flash, and the OPPO logo at the bottom right. no huge fingerprint scanner at the back.

On edges, the phone’s right edge has its coloured power button and nothing else to attract lovers of both style and functionality. The phone’s left edge has the Dual Sim and Memory card slot and the volume rocker. The bottom edge has a 3.5mm earphone jack, USB type C port, and its speakers. The top is clear apart from a sensor.

Running ColorOS, which is based on Android 10, the phone allows users to set up a very different environment for themselves due to a plethora of features and templates from ColorOS.
