Twitter is working hard to decrease misleading information by 29%.

When corona happened there was a lot of misleading information about covid. In fact recently there were a number of questionnaires taking place asking people if they know the difference between the truth and false information that is online.

As an attempt to try to control the information that people are spreading about corona Twitter has been flagging rumors and false information. As a matter of fact former President Donald Trump tweets were flagged due to the false information that he was spreading.

If you retweet a flagged tweet this is what will happen.

There will be prompts that will be added so that when you retweet the likelihood of misleading quotes spreading will be a lot less. Before liking a flagged tweet twitter will be issuing a warning beforehand in order to curb the spread of misinformation.

There will be a “find out more” button that will allow you to see why a certain tweet has been flagged. Between the dates of October 27th and November 11th there were 300,000 tweets that had been labelled misleading and out of those 456b were blocked either from being liked or retweeted.

This is a very important move especially at a time where everyone is waiting for the covid vaccine and everyone is literally rummaging for information about when and where it will be available.

Keep in mind that if you wish to get proper information it is best to do so from credible news sources that have been verified and are reliable.
