How to move WhatsApp groups and chats to the Signal app is a demand that has come quickly and furiously after the privacy policy has been exposed to the Facebook-owned messenger app. New Signal users often encounter problems after logging in, i.e. transferring old WhatsApp groups to Signal.

How to Move WhatsApp Groups to Signal App

Create a group on Signal

Open the three vertical points menu and select New Group. You will now have to manually add an additional one member to form a group. Give the new group the name of your choice, and if you really want, add a picture. To continue, click the bottom right button.

It is advisable to use the same name so that it can be quickly identified by your contacts.

Get the group invite link

Go to the Group Settings tab select ‘Group Link.’ Turn on Group Link toggle and get a shareable invite link to register your contacts in the application and to access the group. Open the Options menu and choose Group Settings. Next, tap Group Link.

Share the invite link

Activate the Group Link option and tap Share. You can share it with your previous WhatsApp groups so that users can join your newly created Signal Group directly.

Copy the group link by having to click Copy.

Open WhatsApp, go to the group you would like to transfer, and send a link. Everyone of your contacts will be able to easily access the new group created in Signal. Once all contacts are present in the new group, delete the previous group completely in WhatsApp.

Signal is easy, accessible and worked great like a day-to-day messaging app.
