Laverie, an Egyptian laundry startup, has raised an undisclosed six-figure (USD) funding from one of Egypt’s biggest tech investors.The funds will be used to extend its operations across Greater Cairo and eventually the Gulf Cooperation Council over the next two years.
The startup has handled over 60,000 products and acquired a customer base of over 4,000 registered customers with a month over month increase of 25% since it was created. The growth picked A15’s interest.
Founders Ayman Gaballah and Mohab Aloush founded the startup in 2018.The founders have a combined 20 years of experience in software growth, corporate development and digital transformation in both large corporations and small businesses. Laverie is a professional dry clean and laundry service with a pick-up scheduling through the startup’s mobile app.
Clients are encouraged to prepare their items in reasonably sturdy bags. Special service items should be in a separate bag and labelled with instructions. When placing an order, clients are asked to give instructions where the order is to be picked up and returned.
Upon receipt of the order, Laverie sorts out items according to whites, lights, colors and special service items. Laverie only uses the Seventh Generation laundry products .Borax, Bleach and fabric softeners are made available to the clients upon request at no extra cost. Customers also have an option to provide their own detergents. Laverie offers Standard Drying Services. Laverie returns the hand, hang, dry and delicate items on hangers. No lay flat services are provided by Laverie.
When the order is complete, Laverie informs the client on the delivery time and returns the clients’ items to the place requested by the customer.A$10 fee is applicable for the missed delivery without prior notice. To avoid the additional fee being charged, consumers are asked to inform Laverie within 2 hours prior to the originally scheduled delivery time.
Laverie accepts cash and all major credit cards upon completion of the client’s order. Credit card orders can be paid upon delivery to the driver or via phone.
